Since the mid 90′s we witnessed the emergence and growth of technology compounds called USB (universal serial bus). Originally designed to connect computer and telecommunication equipment, technology, USB has gradually become the primary means to connect most devices. Technology is undoubtedly a significant contribution to the modern world of high technology.

The present article is about coaxial cables, their identification and assignment. If you want to know more about the coaxial cable, then you should read the following.
So, what is the coaxial cable and what is it consists of?
Coaxial cable – the kind of the electric cable.
The simplest coaxial cable consists of:
- copper conductor (core);
-isolation, its environment;
-screen in the form of a metal sheath;
-outer shell.
If a cable, besides a metal sheath, has also a layer of foil, it is called a cable with a dual screen version. In the presence of strong interference, you can use a cable with quad-screen version. It consists of a double layer of foil and double-layer metal braiding.
Some cable types covered by metal mesh – a screen (shield). It protects data transmitted over cable, absorbing external electromagnetic signals, called interference, or noise. Thus, the screen does not allow the noise to distort the data. Coaxial cable is more noise-eliminating, signal attenuation in it less than in a twisted pair.
Coaxial cable used for cable TV and a wide range of broadcasting. Coaxial cable is called “coaxial” because it embodies the central copper conductor, covered with a plastic insulating material over which is the second conductor – copper braid or aluminum foil with a braided tinned copper wire. Due to the coincidence of the centers of both conductor loss by radiation is practically absent, while simultaneously provides good protection against external electromagnetic interference and this cable provides data transfer over long distances and is used in the construction of computer networks.
Coaxial cable is widely used for computer networks such as Ethernet. The disadvantage of the cable is that it is rather expensive, but despite the fact that it is much more expensive than standard telephone cable, it is less susceptible to interference and provides greater data transmission.
Most used coaxial cables:
-50 ohms;
-75 ohms.
Coaxial cables for 50-ohm antennas are used for the transmitting of the devices, for measuring devices and data communications (Ethernet).
Coaxial cable at 75 ohms is used to transmit video signals, TV antenna signals and digital audio signals.
There are other types of coaxial cables, which are used for special purposes (e.g. 93 ohms).
As a rule, the thicker the cable, the more difficult to work with it. Thin coaxial cable is flexible, easy to install and relatively inexpensive. Thick cable is hard to bend, and therefore more difficult to install. This is a very significant drawback, especially if you put the cable through the pipes or gutters. Thick coaxial cable is more subtle, but it transmits signals over long distances. Hope that this article will be useful for you. And you will be able to use it in your every day life.
