There are so many different internet marketing techniques. Some are expensive and will empty your bank account like a runaway train! What I have found is that some of the most effective methods are absolutely free.
If you are a fairly new internet marketer which are the best free internet marketing techniques to drive traffic and generate sales? In online marketing business you have to recognize a couple of key points.
What do you enjoy doing?
Which method of internet marketing particularly resonates with you?
No doubt you are presented with an avalanche of information, techniques and choices. The very first thing you must do is to work out whether you enjoy writing or being in front of a video camcorder or building relationships with people in social media. It is unwise to try to do everything at once. You will become average at a range of techniques and this will not be helpful to your business.
What you WILL need will be a blog or hubpage. This is essential to any marketing platform. It enables people to find out more about you and your skills. It is your personal brand and this is crucial! Any marketing you do can be directed to this centre so prospects can decide if they are interested in working with you. You will use this platform to post relevant tips, opinions, observations and VALUE! Once you have this up and running you can decide which of the other techniques you prefer.
If you are writing content you have to take major action. 1 article a week is not going to make the grade. Anywhere between 5 and 25 will. (yes 25! I know of one internet marketing guru who writes 10 a day!) Learn about keywords so you can get found – this is a must.
Press releases also get major rankings in the search engines but again you need to be prolific and consistent. You need to know the “press release tricks” to get them found.
The search engines love videos so if you are comfortable with this format learn from the masters. Find the top ranking videos for your keywords and learn as much as you can from how they do it. Then again make lots of videos until you are relaxed and you are using titles, descriptions and tags that will get you results.
If you are someone who enjoys meeting and communicating with new people from around the world, social media is a great way to drive traffic. You can generate lots of leads as long as you use social media to meet and start relationships with others. Never spam people with your business opportunity. You will be seen as a nuisance and you will be deleted! Start conversations, help people with your experiences and direct them to sites which will be a benefit. This is a long term experience but is incredibly gratifying as well.
Interestingly, with the compliance changes at Google the emphasis on free internet marketing techniques is no longer about budget. These methods and other low cost techniques are becoming the essential tool in the marketer’s tool-kit.
Become an expert at one but make sure you have associated techniques to build out your online expertise. Become your own personal brand!
