Scanner resolution. This is the most important feature of the scanner. The higher the resolution, the more image quality you get. It is clear that the scanned image quality can be increased as you like – but with a low-resolution picture can not do anything. Interestingly, the resolution of scanners is of two kinds: it can be optical, but may be an interpolation (software increases – such can be done in any graphics editor). It is advisable not to look at what it says on the box with the scanner, and read its data sheet, or ask for help the store manager. Otherwise, you can choose a scanner with optical resolution of 2400 DPI, although the box can be written, and one hundred thousand (of course, we’re a bit exaggerating, but overall this is so). Most often reported quantities resolution looks the type 800 * 2400 (the first figure – optical zoom horizontally, the second figure is almost nothing, it depends only on the pitch, can work with matrix scanner).
