Whilst Apple may well be done with ripping on Microsoft, it seems the Seattle giant isn’t about to stop the debate as they have added a brand new section to its Windows 7 site, which attacks the Mac and promotes the PC.

After almost 4 years of windows persecution from Apple, Microsoft appears to be fighting back (finally) and uses a number of PC components to demonstrate the point that a windows based computer is better than a Mac. It makes some good points too, after all, you wont find a Blu-ray player, TV tuner or a memory stick reader for a Mac. The Mac also struggles with some of the newer technology like built in 3G wireless and Microsoft are quick to point this out too.
Now whilst all of this is undoubtedly true, we also know that in terms of computer hardware, the Mc is at least equipped with Intel CPU’s these days, so unsurprisingly there is no mention of this, but Microsoft do labour the point about video game software not being available for the Mac. Its broadly true that the Mac is under served when it comes to big titles in the gaming world and you wont see Mario Kart or even the next Call of Duty being made for it, but it does have a good catalogue of game including Counter Strike Source and in any case, people who buy a Mac, arent buying it to play games, so its a moot point.

It’s also worth considering that Microsoft makes a version of Office for the Mac and it’s hardly free of charge is it…

When you look at the page, its clear the PC comes out on top, but we arent even measuring against the things a Mac does do exceptionally well. Clearly, if games, HD media and films and recording TV are your bag, you’ll be off to purchase something from the range of Desktop PCs But if you have only business in mind, particularly graphic design, web design or hardcore movie editing, then a Mac would be your best friend.

This isnt rocket science and it isn’t any different to how its been for the last 15 years, which makes Microsofts decision to go for the jugular now, all the more curious?
