For a long time we have used the video store as one of our main ways to access movies. The next generation it seems will be getting their movies from movie downloads, avoiding any trips to the store. Let’s look at what you might find to watch using a movie download site.

The Cable Guy: Steve Kovacs has moved into a new apartment. When Chip the cable guy comes over to set up his system, Steve slips him a fifty for some free channels. Chip sees this as an opening to be Steve’s best friend. It will be the worst $50 that Steve has ever spent.

Buffalo Bill and the Indians: Cast includes Paul Newman, Joel Grey, Kevin McCarthy, Burt Lancaster, Geraldine Chaplin, and Harvey Keitel, Blunt Kaquitts, Can Sampson. Altman makes the point that Buffalo Bill was a elaborate deceit, then belabors it for 2 hours. Not without interest, however still one of the controller’s duller films. (120 minutes, 1976)

The Rookie (1990): Veteran detective Nick Pulovska, working in the auto theft division, has discovered German crime boss Strom is heading a large auto theft ring. In attempts to capture Strom, Nick’s partner is killed. The case is transferred to the homicide division. He is taken off the case, and given a new partner. He disobeys orders and he and his new partner are out to finish what Nick had started.

Shadow of the Vampire: Vibrant and entertaining fiction movie in reference to the making of F.W. Murnau’s classically scary German quiet film Nosferatu. Malkovich is excellent a demanding filmmaker; Dafoe is magnificent as Max Schreck, a performer or is he? Cast includes Elias Merhige, John Malkovich, Willem Dafoe, Cary Elwes, John Aden Gillet, and Catherine McCormack. (93 minutes, 2000)

Nightmare on Elm Street Part Two: Continuation of first film’s tale (set 5 years later) has an adolescent boy plagued by fantasies of the demonic Freddy, who is motive on taking over both his mind and body so he might murder all the town’s adolescents. Hideous visual affects over power this horror film. Cast includes Mark Patton, Kim Myers, Robert Rusler, Hope Lange, Marshall Bell, Sydney Walsh, and Robert Englund. (84 minutes, 1985)

Carlito’s Way: Just out of prison on a technicality, heroin trafficker Carlito vows to go straight. He invests in a club, and starts saving money for a move to the Bahamas, and a new life. His problem is that his past won’t leave him alone, and he gets drawn back into that violent world.

The Life of Emile Zola: Genuine biography of famed 19th-century French author who rose to cause of wrongly exiled Commander Dreyfus Schildkraut; detailed production filled with fine vignettes. Cast includes Paul Muni, Gale Sondergaard, Joseph Schildkraut, Gloria Holden, and Donald Crisp(116 minutes, 1937)

Hancock: This story is of a super hero with an attitude problem. While Hancock saves the city, people still hate him because of his bad attitude. That is until he runs into Ray Embrey, a P.R. executive who gives Hancock a P.R. makeover.

Million Dollar Baby: Maggie Fitzgerald is a middle-aged woman with a dream. She is determined to become a championship boxer, and she just won’t quite. She needs Frankie, a local boxing trainer to help. He is reluctant at first, but Maggie’s unstoppable spirit sweeps him in.

If your looking for downloads, type in “Downloading DVDs” to a search engine, see if you find something good. If the first search proves ineffective type in something different. Try something different, like “Download New Movie”.
